We are sorry to hear about your lost pet and strongly recommend visiting San Francisco Animal Care & Control at 1200 15th St. @Harrison St. (and other shelters in your area). SFACC is open every day from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm (7:00 pm on Wednesdays).
The shelter holds stray animals for 5 days. After that, they might be made available at the ACC Adoption Center. IMPORTANT: Animals in the Adoption Center do not include those that were recently brought to the shelter (as strays or found by others) and have not yet been evaluated for adoption. It’s best to come and look for your pet in person. Until you can come to the shelter to check, you can call the Animal Care & Control Lost Pet Hotline at (415) 567-8738.
