Operation Chihuahua at AT&T Park
August 20, 2016 @ 12:20 pm - 1:00 pm
Commitment to the community is a part of the Virgin brand’s DNA, and the airline has partnered with the San Francisco Animal Care & Control (SFACC) since 2010 to fly Chihuahuas (which are overpopulated on the West Coast) from the Bay Area to the East Coast where they can be adopted into loving homes. On August 20th, 2016, Virgin America will pledge $10,000 to support the vital work the SFACC does to help Bay Area animals–and will be tapping some special four-legged all-stars to participate in the ceremonial first pitch, with several Chihuahuas from the SFACC taking to the field to assist.
NOTE: The Chihuahuas Bubble, Squeak, Cookie, and Snicklefritz will be escorted onto the field at 12:20 pm. The dogs appearing at the game will not be available for adoption until 12 Noon on Sunday at SFACC. (Giants vs. Mets @1:05 pm.)
